Elderly woman hit, killed by garbage truck while crossing SOM Center Road

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio - Police in Mayfield Heights said an 86-year-old woman died at a local hospital, after being hit by a garbage truck just after 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Authorities said the woman was crossing SOM Center Road at Monterey Drive when she was hit by a garbage truck.
The elderly woman was rushed to Hillcrest Hospital where she later died.
Police said the accident remains under investigation.
At this time, the garbage truck driver has not been charged.
