Elderly man found dead in burning Rocky River home

ROCKY RIVER, Oh - An elderly man was found dead following an early morning house fire Saturday in Rocky River.

According to Rocky River fire officials, the first call came in around 3:45 a.m.. Saturday morning at a home on East Asplin Drive just south of Hilliard Boulevard.

Fire fighters arrived to find the two-story home fully engulfed in flames. It took about an hour to put out the fire. The victim was the only one inside the home at the time.

The State Fire Marshall's office is investigating, but so far, no cause has been determined.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has not yet identified the victim.
