EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio - The East Cleveland Police Department is going into 2013 with a new round of layoffs.
The department will be trimmed by 15-19 officers -- or 20 percent -- effective Wednesday when pink slips begin going out to those impacted.
The chief said the city is working on a strategy that will allow the department to operate with the reduction.
More details about the layoffs are expected to be known next week.
Unfortunately, it's not the first time the department has had to trim its force. In 2011, East Cleveland laid off 36 police officers.
