NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio - A North Olmsted house was destroyed after an early morning fire Saturday.
Crews arrived on scene at 31134 Lorain Road around 12:30 a.m. to find the house fully engulfed with flames.
No one was injured in the fire.
Lt. Swan of the North Olmsted Fire Department told NewsChannel 5 the family's dog woke them up to alert them of the fire and get them out of the house. Unfortunately, the dog was then killed in the fire.
The fire department said the home is a total loss after a partial collapse.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
