WESTLAKE, Ohio - A Willoughby man was arrested after police say he was drunk when he brought a knife into a movie theater.
Westlake police said 35-year-old Shawn Booth was lying and sitting on the floor inside one of the theaters at Regal Cinemas Crocker Park at about 8:15 on Nov. 4.
An off-duty Westlake officer, who was working security, led the intoxicated man out of the building. But that’s when police said Booth turned on the officer.
The off-duty cop held down Booth until officers arrived. Police said once he was in handcuffs, they discovered a spring-operated knife.
Booth was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication, resisting arrest and carrying various weapons.
