HENRIETTA TWP., Ohio - Two men were injured in a three car crash Friday evening.

According to the Elyria Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), the three car crash happened around 6:18 p.m. Friday near the intersection of SR6113 and Gifford Road.

The initial investigation revealed that Timothy O'Brien of Wakeman, Ohio was stopped in his F350 dump truck trying to turn left into a private drive when Michael Durkalec attempted to pass O'Brien and struck the side of O'Brien's vehicle before hitting an eastbound vehicle head on.

Durkalec swiped O'Brien's vehicle on the driver's side and slammed into an eastbound driver, Brent Leimback of Amherst, Ohio, who was driving a Ford F150.

O'Brien was uninjured in the crash.

Durkalec's vehicle came to a stop in the middle of the roadway. He was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center where Sunday he was last listed in critical condition.

The eastbound driver, Brent Leimback, was trapped in his F150 and was extricated by medical personnel.  He was also flown by LifeFlight to MetroHealth Medical Center where he is listed in fair condition.

Seatbelt use by all individuals is unknown at this time.

The OSHP is investigating if drug and alcohol use was a factor in the crash.
