BROOKLYN, Ohio - The man who shot and killed his wife and 10-year-old daughter at the Brooklyn Cracker Barrel before police killed him is being buried this weekend.

The funeral for Kevin Allen, 51, will take place Saturday in Kansas City, Missouri.

An obituary posted on the Kansas City Star's website said Thursday morning said that Kevin Allen’s funeral would include “full military honors.” The obituary was later changed to remove that information.

John Hesson, funeral director at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons in Kansas City, Missouri, told NewsChannel5 that the military said the request for a full military honor funeral had been denied.

According to Brooklyn police, Kevin Allen entered the Cracker Barrel restaurant on the evening of April 12 with a long gun and shot his wife, 42-year-old Kate Allen, his daughter, 10-year-old Kerri Allen and other daughter, 10-year-old Kayla Allen.

Officers then shot and killed Kevin Allen as he was leaving the restaurant after police said he refused to comply with their orders

Kate Allen told police in a 911 call before the shooting that she had just told her husband during a birthday dinner for their daughter that she was leaving him.

Kayla Allen remains in critical condition at MetroHealth Medical Center.
