WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio - A police chase ended Monday with the driver ditching his shoes before running from officers.
According to Warrensville Heights police, the male driver was parked on the wrong side of the street in a residential area when officers first approached the vehicle.
The vehicle returned around 4 a.m. and officers attempted a second approach. That's when the driver took off and crashed into a fence in the area of Lee and Harvard Road in Cleveland, Ohio.
The suspect bailed from the vehicle, leaving his shoes behind, and was arrested by police.
The suspect has charges pending for possession of drugs, driving under suspension and various other offenses, police said.
The suspect was transported to Bedford Heights Jail. His name has not yet been released.
