CLEVELAND - The 10-year-old girl who survived her father's deadly shooting spree inside the Brooklyn restaurant is improving at a local hospital.
Metro Health Medical Center officials upgraded the condition of Kayla Allen, 10, from critical to serious on Sunday.
Police said Kevin Allen, 51, shot and killed his wife Kate, 42, and daughter Kerri, 9, and critically injured Kayla during Kerri's birthday celebration at the restaurant on April 11.
Police shot and killed Kevin.
On Thursday, Kayla's aunt said her niece was responding to simple commands, but still has a long road to recovery.
Last week, nearly 300 people attended a memorial service for the family, which was filled with tears and hugs.
