An employee at Well's Fashion Clothing store was fatally shot Friday evening during a robbery.

According to Cleveland Police, officers were called out around 7:55 p. m. to 14304 Kinsman Avenue for a robbery with a male shot.

Fourth District officers arrived on scene and located a man, 54, with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported by EMS to MetroHealth Medical Center where he later died from injuries.

The preliminary investigation reveals that two suspects attempted to rob the store and as the suspects were fleeing, the store worker attempted to chase them down. During the pursuit, one of the suspects shot the store employee.

The identity of the victim has not been released at this time. Anyone who would like to donate to the victim's family can do so at any Key Bank branch.

The official cause of death will be determined by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
