Cleveland Police investigate fight that led to shooting in the street

CLEVELAND - A 34-year-old man is dead after being shot several times Friday evening.

Cleveland Police said they responded to E.108th Street and Sandusky Avenue for a report of a fight and shots fired.

When police arrived on scene, they found a man who had been shot several times lying in the street.

Officers investigating learned that the victim was fighting with another man in an SUV, and continued to fight in the street after they got out of the vehicle.

Police said that is when shots were fired.

Officials said the second man fled the scene. He was last seen running south on E.109th Street.

The victim was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

So far, no arrests have been made.

The Homicide Unit along with the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the hospital and to the scene for investigation. 

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death.
