BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio - The Cleveland Photographic Society will be celebrating 125 years of continuous operation in 2012.

CPS is one of the oldest photography clubs in the nation. It has a long, rich history that includes notable photographers such as Jenny Jones, Shanti Bahadur and Henry Mayer.

The goal of CPS is to promote the art of photography through fellowship, education and exhibits.

"We've been in existence longer than Kodak. We started five years before Kodak became an entity and with the bankruptcy of Kodak, we are still going strong" said Joanne Damian, vice president of CPS.

To help celebrate, a series of events will be held throughout 2012. A scavenger hunt will take place in March, a gala banquet in May and a time capsule ceremony in December.

CPS recently won several national awards from the Photographic Society of America for its service to the community and for it's newsletter.

If you are interested in photography classes or any of the other events being offered by CPS please go to their website at: http://www.clevelandphoto.org
