CLEVELAND - A Lakewood man is dead after his van went into the lake at Edgewater Park Monday evening.
The Cleveland Fire Department responded to the scene at about 8:30 p.m., initiating a rescue effort. Crews said the van was flipped over in the water and had been in the water for 20 to 25 minutes.
Witnesses told media outlets that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it went between two trees and over the cliff. It was pulled from the water at about 11 p.m.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 47-year-old Richard Arthur.
The incident is still under investigation.
