BEACHWOOD, Ohio - More than 500 guests with 70 students in Beachwood High School's American Sign Language Club and ASC foreign language classes attended the 8th annual ASL Club Holiday Party Tuesday.
The party gives typical hearing students the opportunity to practice the communication skills they've learned in ASL foreign language class while giving back to the community.
Tuesday's party at Beachwood High School was visited by Cleveland Browns player Ryan Miller.
Recently, Beachwood Schools discussed eliminating their special school for the deaf and hard of hearing children due to declining enrollment and cost. However, the community and members of the school put up a fight and now the school will remain open.
