CLEVELAND - Cities across northeast Ohio are cancelling Wednesday's trick-or-treat ahead of Hurricane Sandy and rescheduling it for the weekend.
Trick-or-treating will now take place on Nov. 4 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Parma, Parma Heights and Seven Hills.
"Obviously, safety of the children is paramount," said Parma Mayor Tim DeGeeter. "That’s our first priority. Also, Sunday is at the end of the weekend and more likely to be convenient for most people."
Weather conditions are uncertain at best for Halloween night because prolonged rain and wind from Hurricane Sandy are expected to linger over the area this week.
“We regret any inconvenience that this may cause to anyone, but it is important to be safe, and re-scheduling is the best option to let the weather run its course,” said Seven Hills Mayor Richard Dell A'Quila.
