CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio - UPDATE June 21 @ 2:30 p.m.: Chagrin Falls water department said the boil order has been lifted.

------------------------
Residents of Chagrin Falls are under a boil alert after a 10-inch water main broke just before 8 p.m. Tuesday. The main is located on East Washington Street near Main Street.

The Chagrin Falls Wastewater Treatment crew told NewsChannel5 initially expected to have the repair complete by 5 a.m. Wednesday. But, as of 5:30 a.m., crews were still working to fix the problem.

Once the repair is made, tests will be done on the water at various locations in the city to make sure the water is safe to drink. Officials said they expect the boil alert to remain in effect until sometime Thursday morning.

East Washington will remain closed at Main Street until the repairs can be made to the road surface where it buckled and collapsed.
