CANTON, Ohio - Monday at 7:30 p.m. Canton City Council will vote on installing traffic cameras that catch speeders and red light violators in the city.
The city has been trying for years to set them up, but the proposed idea has always fizzled out.
In the past five years, the city has tried three times to get them installed.
This is the second attempt to have this proposal approved by Mayor Healey.
Back in April of 2007, Redflex Traffic Systems out of Arizona pitched its camera system to the city at a council meeting.
At that time, the company said it would cut down on accidents and the city wouldn't have to pay for the equipment or the digital system.
