LAKEWOOD, Ohio - A man who allegedly jumped from a window Wednesday is recovering in the hospital from severe burns after a reported methamphetamine explosion at his home, according to police.
Officers said they responded to a call around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday reporting that a man was on fire and had jumped out of a window at 2026 Quail Ave.
When crews arrived, officers said they found equipment used to manufacture methamphetamine.
The Lakewood Narcotics Unit was called in to confiscate the items.
Police said the 26-year-old victim, whose name was not released, suffered severe burns to his body and was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center. An update on his condition was not released
Police said two other adults who were inside of the home were arrested and booked into the Lakewood jail.
Amanda Bentkalowycz, 24, and Jeffery Mehnert, 33, were charged with aggravated arson, drug abuse, drug trafficking and illegal manufacturing of drugs.
They are expected to be arraigned Thursday morning.
