STRONGSVILLE, Ohio - Brooklyn police said the man who killed his wife and daughter inside a Brooklyn Cracker Barrel had a previous domestic violence complaint against him, plus an incident was documented two days before the shooting.
NewsChannel5 obtained a copy of a police report filed Tuesday evening by Kate Allen, in which she told police there was an incident between her and her husband, 51-year-old Kevin Allen. She left the family's Strongsville home with her kids to stay at a friend's house.
Kate Allen told police her husband said that if she came back to get belongings he would keep the kids.
According to the police report, Kate Allen initially called officers because she wanted to go back to the house to get some belonging, but later decided not to because it would make Kevin Allen mad if police responded.
"She wanted it documented that they have been getting into verbal altercations," according to the officer's narrative.
Also, police said someone filed a domestic violence complaint against Kevin Allen of Strongsville in 1995.
Court documents revealed Allen had one criminal case for theft in the amount of $2,500 in 2008. He was found not guilty in that case.
Allen was killed by police after investigators said he shot and killed his wife, Katherina (Kate) Allen, 42 of Strongsville, and 10-year-old Kerri Allen. Another victim, 10-year-old Kayla Allen was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in critical condition.
A 911 call revealed that Kate Allen got into an argument with her husband at the restaurant after telling him she wanted to leave him.
