CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio - The BBC broadcasted live to the world from Melt Bar and Grilled in Cleveland Heights Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
Clive Myrie a BBC correspondent from London reported on the election from the corner of the restaurant with a group of about 75 people, who gathered to watch the news coverage behind him.
Chris Stein, of Cleveland Heights, was interviewed by Myrie live around midnight.
“I totally choked up at the beginning,” Stein said, “I felt a little like a deer in the head lights.”
Shira Straus a graduate student from San Jose, California was also interviewed by Myrie.
“It was kind of last minute that I even decided to come out tonight,” Straus said. “I certainly didn’t expect that the girl who tapped me on the shoulder to ask me how I was feeling would say hey let’s interview you live for the BBC.”
Myrie was the only BBC correspondent in Ohio for the election.
