Cleveland Police have new information regarding a stabbing on Benwood Avenue overnight.
Now, Cleveland Police say the 21-year-old man was beaten with a golf club, tire iron and crow bar before being stabbed outside of and east side bar.
According to a police report, Cleveland Police were called out to a parking lot near Joe D's Bar located at 13701 Benwood Avenue for a male stabbed and beaten around 3 a.m. Officers arrived on scene and the victim had already been transported by ambulance to MetroHealth Medical Center.
At Metro, the 21-year-old victim told officers that he was at Joe D's Bar at E.131st Street and Miles Avenue when he was involved in fight with an unknown male. The victim left the bar and was followed out by a group of guys, who surrounded the victim's girlfriend just outside of the bar. The man went back to get his girlfriend and was attacked with a golf club, tire iron, crow bar and knife. The girlfriend was able to get away without injury during the attack.
Cleveland Police searched for the suspects but came up empty.
