Thomas Castro was arraigned in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas on corruption related charges.

Castro was arraigned on racketeering, conspiracy, and bribery charges relating to his attempts to bribe victims in the earlier rape case. In exchange for cash, Castro and his attorneys, Anthony O. Calabrese III, Giles Timothy Marshall, and Marc G. Doumbas, who are also charged in the same indictment, wanted the victims to give favorable testimony and/or letters for Castro at sentencing.

Castro is currently being held on a $250,000.00 bond set by the court Friday.

The  Cuyahoga County Grand Jury also indicted Castro, a convicted sex-offender and accused serial date-rapist, on one count of Gross Sexual Imposition and two counts of Kidnapping.

This, after a new victim disclosed to police that Castro had assaulted her in early 2011. The victim told police that after a night out with friends, Castro attempted to force her to have sex with him. The assault ended, according to the victim, after she fought back. This latest allegation follows charges that Castro raped two other local women in 2010 and 2011. Those cases remain pending before the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.
