NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio - A North Royalton High School student started an anonymous Twitter account that's emitting enthusiasm and creating a sense of mystery throughout the school.
The person behind the " @NRHSKINDNESS1 " Twitter account hasn't revealed his/her identity, so that person is known as "kindness' throughout school hallways. A tweet may give a shout out to a fellow student for a job well done, wish someone Happy Birthday or just single a student out for their contributions to the school.
Principal Mic Becerra said that "kindness" began tweeting in the fall but the concept has really picked up steam lately.
While "kindness" gets a lot of credit, a social studies teacher actually planted the seed.
Jennifer Forshey read an article about a student who did this in another school and talked about it with one student, who took the idea and ran with it. She believes "kindness" is making a difference.
"The students have really been celebrating each other's successes, and it's not necessarily about the team, but about the community, and I think "kindness" has a lot to do with it, " she said.
The student wants to stay anonymous as long as possible, although they think some students are starting to guess the mystery tweeter's identity, but they say they believe the message is bigger than the mystery.
