BROOKLYN, Ohio - American Greetings announced on Wednesday it is delaying its plans for a new headquarters in Westlake.

In May, the Brooklyn-based company said it would move its world headquarters to Crocker Park within the next three years.

The board of directors made the decision after a move to make American Greetings private, a news release said.

“American Greetings still intends to develop its new world headquarters in the Crocker Park development located in the City of Westlake. American Greetings believes that the delay will be short and will have no material adverse impact on the Company,” the news release said.

The new Creative Studios A.G. building in Crocker Park will include leased retail space on the first floor and a plaza.
