AKRON, Ohio - The bridge bomb-plotting case against five men in Ohio is headed back to court.
Judge David Dowd in Akron must decide whether to grant one defendant's request to be tried separately. That and other issues will come before the judge at a pretrial conference Wednesday.
The trial is scheduled for Sept. 17 in Akron. All five have pleaded not guilty.
Dowd also is reviewing a request by three defendants to throw out their statements made to the FBI when they were arrested in April.
The men are charged with plotting to blow up a bridge between Cleveland and Akron. They allegedly were working with an FBI informant who provided a dud explosive.
The judge says there's insufficient evidence of bias to move the trial at this point.
