SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - A man remains in jail after crashing his car in an attempt to flee police near the Euclid Creek Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks.
Cleveland Metroparks Rangers said the male driver was being pulled over around 2am Saturday for a routine traffic stop, but then took off in the opposite direction.
A half mile down the road the driver lost control of his car and crashed into some trees.
EMS transported the man to a local hospital for minor injuries and officers took the man into custody shortly afterwards.
According to the South Euclid Police Department who assisted, the initial investigation revealed the man was driving with a suspended license and had an outstanding arrest warrant with the Cuyahoga County Sheriffs Office.
Officers believe the man was under the influence at the time of the chase and crash.
No charges have been filed yet and the matter remains under investigation.
