'Turkey Fairy' strikes again, leaving blankets and scarves in Lyndhurst bus stop

LYNDHURST,Ohio - Nancy Panzero and Katie Trolio share a huge south-facing picture window at their Family Practice Urgent Care office on Mayfield Road.

They had their eyes on the bus stop on Tuesday, hoping to get a glimpse of the self-proclaimed "Turkey Fairy."

He or she left another note Tuesday taped to the bus stop's glass wall after dropping newly-purchased fleece blankets, scarves and gloves. The note read, "Be the change you want to see in the world. Take and stay warm! The Turkey Fairy strikes again!"

Panzero arrived at 6:45 a.m. to find another new set of gifts 75 feet outside of her window.

"They were here before I even got here. It happened yesterday. I came in again today and they actually doubled their supplies this morning when I came in," Panzero said.

"People are being nice and only taking one, or two. I've never seen it and I've been here at urgent care for 30 years. It's very sweet, very heart-warming."

Panzero's office colleague wonders who it is, but is sure they would want to stay anonymous.

"I would want to keep it a secret. I wouldn't want to make it about me. I would want it to be about the actual cause itself," Trolio said.

A few blocks down from the urgent care office, a crew worked on a new sanitary pump site for the city of Lyndhurst.

Worker Vince Ujcich said he knows who the Turkey Fairy is because he met her. She dropped off coffee and donuts to his crew Monday morning. Ujcich said the woman was in hospital scrubs and said something close to what are in the notes left at the bus stop.

But he's not giving up anything else about her identity, simply wishing more of her kindness will spread. There may be an entire flock of them.

"I think it's maybe one of the turkey fairies. She said they do this every year. I have to believe there's more than one Turkey Fairy running around Lyndhurst and it's a very nice thing to do," Ujcich said.

Visiting the urgent care building Gina Yafanaro and her daughter, Lauren, walked to the bus stop to see the latest note posted on the glass.

"I think that's incredible. It's awesome," Yafanaro said. "There are not many people in the world who would do that and it's great that someone will take the time and think of the people who are unthought (sic) of," said Lauren Yafanaro.
