STRONGSVILLE, Ohio - It was another day of teachers striking in Strongsville, and concerned residents took their displeasure with the walkout to the streets early Friday.
Melissa Strzala organized the rally, which was held on the corner of Rt. 82 and Pearl Rd. The group calls themselves "Taxpayers at the Table."
Strzala said they want to take part in the contract negotiations between the Strongsville Education Association and the Board of Education.
"Taxpayers at the Table" told NewsChannel5 they take issue with the teachers' tactics. From blocking school entrances to picketing at the homes of school board members, Strazala said, "They're not showing students how to properly stand up for something they believe in."
Strazala said, "These days, people are losing jobs, paying more for health care and taking pay cuts, and teachers are not immune to the economic issues."
