3 Cuyahoga County attorneys Calabrese, Doumbas, Marshall indicted for allegedly bribing rape victims

CLEVELAND - Three Cuyahoga County attorneys have been indicted for allegedly bribing rape victims, the county prosecutor announced Friday.

Prosecutors said Anthony Calabrese III, 40, of Bentleyville, Marc Doumbas, 44, of Westlake, and Giles Timothy Marshall, 63, of Olmsted Falls, attempted to bribe two different rape victims in a pending criminal case. The alleged bribes happened between April 19 and Nov. 6.

“The bribe sought to change the victim’s testimony in exchange for $150,000 in cash, including a $6,000 finder fee,” said the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office in a news release.

The prosecutor said this was part of an ongoing investigation, and included a search warrant being executed at Calabrese’s home on Dec. 18. Investigators obtained evidence during that search.

Thursday night, Calabrese turned himself in to the Bentleyville Police Department after learning of his arrest warrant, prosecutors said. He pleaded not guilty and his bond was set at $100,000. If released, he will be on home detention with no access to computers, court officials said.

Doumbas and Marshall will be given a court date to appear before a judge.
