CLEVELAND - Authorities say a northeast Ohio man who fatally shot a burglar in a Cleveland home in November and wounded a man in another break-in this week at the same location had been convicted of a weapons charge in 2010.
Oakwood Village Police Chief Mark Garratt said Friday that 58-year-old Miodrag Bugarcic was convicted in Bedford Municipal Court of a concealed-weapon violation.
The charge stemmed from him firing shots into the ground in an argument with a neighbor. Bugarcic was sentenced to six months in jail, with all but three days suspended.
No phone listing could be found for Bugarcic. His attorney in the 2010 case offered Friday to try to relay a message seeking comment.
The Cleveland prosecutor's office is reviewing Monday's latest shooting to decide on any charges.
