GENEVA, Ohio - A Geneva woman is dead following a murder-suicide Sunday night in Ashtabula County.
At about 11 p.m. Sunday, Jason David Dubois, 40, went to his ex-girlfriend’s mobile home and hid underneath of it until she arrived, according to Ashtabula County Sheriff William Johnson.
When 37-year-old Cynthia Perry pulled into the driveway, Dubois shot her twice before running and hiding in a nearby wooded area, the sheriff said. When deputies found him, Dubois had shot himself in the head.
The sheriff’s department said Dubois was taken to an area hospital, where he died Monday morning. Johnson said they are waiting for the coroner’s report to determine whether he had any drugs in his system.
According to Johnson, Perry and Dubois lived together for about 16 years and had 16-year-old daughter together. The daughter told deputies that the couple had separated and her mother was dating someone else.
