ASHTABULA, Ohio - The man accused of gunning down his father at a church in Ashtabula on Easter Sunday appeared in court Tuesday.
The murder case for Reshad Riddle was bound over to the Ashtabula County Court of Common Pleas.
Bond was continued at $1 million.
No new court date has been announced.
Witnesses said the 25-year-old man walked into Hiawatha Church of God and killed his father, 52-year-old Richard Riddle, with a single shot from a handgun. He was then heard screaming about God and Allah.
Reshad Riddle was quickly subdued by officers, who arrived just moments after the shooting. They say he has been mostly cooperative.
Ashtabula Police Chief Robert Stell said the younger Riddle offered no motive for the shooting.
Court records show Reshad Riddle has an extensive criminal record.
Riddle has been charged with aggravated murder, having weapons under disability and carrying a concealed weapon.
