SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The body of a 13-year-old boy found in Lake Erie Monday has been identified.
The Ashtabula County Medical Examiner’s Office said the victim was Jermaine Marcus Zirkle. The preliminary cause of death is drowning.
The U.S. Coast Guard said that his body was discovered Monday in Lake Erie in the Saybrook Township area near Ashtabula after a search mission.
The Coast Guard brought in a C130 long range surveillance aircraft from North Carolina and an additional helicopter from Air Station Detroit to search over the weekend.
