HARTSGROVE TWP., Ohio - The Ohio State Highway Patrol Ashtabula Post is investigating a one-vehicle crash that resulted in one fatality and one injury Tuesday night.
Just after 8:30 p.m., troopers responded to a traffic crash involving a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier and two pedestrians on State Route 534 just south of milepost seven in Hartsgrove Township.
According to troopers, Windsor, Ohio residents Terry L. Austin Jr., 33, and Michael Austin, 29, were walking northbound along State Route 534 when they were struck by the cavalier.
Ashtabula County coroner Richard Mongel pronounced Terry L. Austin Jr. dead at the scene.
Paramedics transported Michael Austin to the Geauga Hospital with serious injuries.
The accident remains under investigation with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Ashtabula Post.
