CLEVELAND - Ask me what song is playing in my head at least 20 times a day. My response might surprise you. Because it really surprises me. I will tell you that the song is cute, the voice is nice and it has a good beat.
Did I hear it on MTV? No. VH1? No. BET? Nope. This song can be heard on the channel that most parents of toddlers are familiar with, The Disney Channel.
The truth is China McClain of Disney's A.N.T. Farm has Chase spellbound. Her song "Dynamite" has become the national anthem of our household because Chase sings it every morning and all night. Over and over again we throw our hands up in the air sometimes singing ay-oh (lyrics to the song).
In the car, in the store, in the bathtub, or on the potty, Chase can be heard singing Dynamite. It's non-stop! So now I find myself humming the song in the car, on the job, in the store, and yes, even in the shower I'm singing ay-oh. I'm glad that Chase loves to sing and I watch A.N.T. Farm with him sometimes but this song just won't leave my head. I thought I was the only one with Dynamite syndrome, but my parents said Chase sang it so much at their house, they are now singing it too.
I wake up in the morning sometimes to chants and rants of "I want China, I want China, I want China." What happened to 'Hi Mommy'?
Now let me hum you a few bars of You've Got a Friend in Me from Toy Story. The fun-loving cowboy toy Woody definitely has a friend in Chase.
Chase takes Woody everywhere -- in the car, to the store, or on the potty you will always find Chase holding onto his pal Woody.
One day I committed the crime of putting Woody in the toy box while Chase was in school. Bad, bad mommy. Chase was so upset when he saw Woody with the rest of his toys he pulled him out and sat him in his Mickey Mouse chair. Woody is special and I guess Chase sent me a clear message to never put him in the toy box again. Was I like this with my Malibu Barbie?
So life with Chase continues to stay interesting. I wonder who will invade our home next....
