LAFAYETTE, N.Y. - A man from Lake County who had been missing for more than a month was found dead in a grain silo in New York, and preliminary autopsy reports indicate it was a suicide.
Larry Fults, 32, of Madison, was last seen Aug. 5 in LaFayette, N.Y. walking barefoot along the side of the New York State Thruway. Media reports in upstate New York said Fults’ abandoned car and wallet were found on the side of that same road.
His wife reported him missing after he didn’t show up for work in northeast Ohio the following day.
On Tuesday, Madison Township police announced Fults’ body was discovered Sunday in an unused grain silo in LaFayette, N.Y.
According to a preliminary autopsy, officials believe Fults committed suicide.
Fults left behind his wife, Noreen, and five children – four sons and a daughter.
A memorial service is set for Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church in Madison.
