MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio - Maple Heights police say that a suspect has been arrested in connection with a double homicide of his grandparents that occurred on Saturday night.
Denny Obermiller, 28, was arrested in Licking County on Sunday at approximately 3:15 p.m.
Police said that Obermiller used to live at the Maple Heights home where the two victims were found.
On Saturday evening, Maple Heights police were called out for a welfare check at a home on the 5500 block of Thomas Street. When police arrived on scene, they discovered what appeared to be forced entry into the house.
Once inside the home, police discovered the bodies of a deceased man and a deceased woman in separate rooms.
Family members told NewsChannel5 that the victims, Donald and Candice Schneider, were Obermiller's grandparents.
Obermiller was previously incarcerated for felonious assault, kidnapping and escape from 2000 until 2009.
Police said that the Schneiders were killed by gunshot.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Maple Heights Police Department.
