LORAIN, Ohio - Lorain Police are investigating an attempted child abduction from Saturday afternoon.
According to police, the abduction attempt occurred on Larkmoor Street around 2 p.m.
The mother of a 5-year-old girl says a man approached her daughter who was playing in the snow. The man walked up the driveway where the girl was playing and tried to pick her up, according to the mother.
The man claimed his granddaughter lives a few blocks away and he thought it was her.
The man then backed towards his car and then reversed rapidly west on Lakemoor and south on Euclid, according to a witness.
The man is described as 55 to 60-years-old. He has salt and pepper shoulder length hair and a beard. He was wearing a black Harley Davidson hat and a black biker jacket with camouflage hunting boots at the time of the incident.
The suspect vehicle is a gold 4-door car made in the 1990’s, possibly a GM product. Additionally, the back seat was full of belongings.
If you have any information on this, you are asked to call Lorain Police at 440-204-2100.
