STREETSBORO, Ohio - Joni Mazzola watched the heartbreaking images in Tuscaloosa unfold everyday on her television. The destruction and devastation touched her heart and moved her to help strangers.
"I just really wanted to do something," said Mazzola.
Mazzola volunteered with the non-profit group Project 195. Memorial Day weekend she and her dog headed to Alabama to help. She spent her holiday weekend picking up the pieces of the lives blown apart.
Mazzola said the images will be etched in her memory. She said her experience was emotional, humbling and rewarding.
