Fairview Park, OHIO - St. Angela Merici School in Fairview Park is recognized as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. The school received this honor as a high performing school in reading and mathematics, along with accomplishments in Student Wellness Programs.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private elementary, middle and high schools whose students achieve at high levels. The program sets a standard of excellence for all schools striving for the highest level of achievement. Each year since 1982, the U.S. Department of Education has sought our schools where students attain and maintain high academic goals.
"Since 1923, St. Angela Merici Parish School has a long tradition of providing an excellent Catholic elementary education to families in Fairview Park and surrounding areas. The U.S. Department of Education affirms our 88-year tradition of excellence with this prestigious award," said Fr. Michael J. Lanning, pastor of St. Angela Merici Parish.
The 225 public and 49 private schools will be honored in Washington, D.C. at a conference and awards ceremony on November 14 and 15.
