BEREA, Ohio - The Cuyahoga County DUI Task Force will be out in full force for the Labor Day weekend.

This weekend, 20 police agencies across Cuyahoga county will conduct 31 saturation patrols and six check points to get impaired drivers off the local roadways.

“These are people sharing the road with you--people whose bad decisions could easily affect your life, your children’s lives, and your friend’s lives," Berea Sergeant Joe Grecol said.

During the first two weekends of Over the Limit. Under Arrest. crackdown, police agencies have arrested 45 people for driving under the influence.

The over the limit under arrest crackdown is funded by federal dollars that are distributed through the Ohio Department of Public Safety Office. The task force uses data from past alcohol involved crashes to design this year’s coverage in hopes of stopping people from getting behind the wheel when drunk.
