CLEVELAND - The first photos of two officers involved in a deadly chase have been uncovered in documents as part of an excessive fore lawsuit filed last year in federal court.

Court records show photos of Detectives Erin O'Donnell and Michael Demchak taken the night a corrections officer was "recklessly and maliciously" attacked.

The detectives, along with two other officers, mistakenly believed they had pulled up to a prison breakout at the Northeast Pre-Release Center in Cleveland in 2009.

Instead, the corrections officer was simply guarding a hole in the prison fence caused by a drunken driver who went off the road.

The lawsuit was settled earlier this year and resulted in a $900,000 judgment against the city of Cleveland and the officers involved for using "excessive force."
