CLEVELAND - A new chapter to the legacy of Cleveland's historic Ohio City neighborhood was announced Wednesday at the annual meeting of Ohio City, Incorporated, the new name of the area's community development corporation.

Area leaders, business owners and residents of Ohio City gathered at the Saint Ignatius High School Breen Center to watch a presentation of a new branding strategy for their neighborhood.

In addition to the corporation name change, a new website and logo will be part of the new brand image.

"We really just want to celebrate what this neighborhood means to the larger community and make sure that people are hearing that message," said Eric Wobser, Executive Director of Ohio City, Incorporated.

Also announced at the meeting was that Cleveland will host the International Public Markets Conference in 2012.  Cleveland beat out four cities, including Toronto and London, to host the event.  The conference will coincide with the centennial celebration of West Side Market.

"Ohio City is one of the few Cleveland neighborhoods that grew in the last decade," said Wobser.  "We're just across the river from downtown.  We've got a number of incredible businesses and a number of folks are moving in to be a part of what is really an incredible, walkable and historic neighborhood."
