CHESTERLAND, Ohio - 24-year-old Bryan DesGravise of Chesterland wants to be a police officer. But he never dreamed he'd crack his first case before he ever put on a badge.
DesGravise was working his part time job at the YMCA in Munson Township when he found a tiny video camera hidden in an air freshener container in the men's room.
"I just knew it didn't belong," DesGravise said.
The air freshener was propped up on the rail in the handicapped stall.
"Why would we put it where if it would go off it would spray somebody?" said DesGravise.
So DesGravise investigated and discovered the camera, which led to the arrest of Mayfield Heights Fire Captain Daniel Serge, a YMCA member.
DesGravise has a degree in criminal justice and dreams of becoming a police officer. He started working out at the Munson Township "Y" to get in shape for the police academy. He later started working at the "Y" part time on the cleaning crew.
"I still can't believe I made a difference like that," DesGravise said.
