CLEVELAND - One of the women who allegedly had an affair with murder defendant Yazeed Esaa is expected to take the witness stand at his trial Friday morning.
Essa is accused in the 2005 cyanide poisoning death of his wife, Rosemarie.
On Thursday, jurors heard from an Essa cousin, Abraham Awad. Awad was in the car when Yazeed Essa was driven to Michigan to begin his flight out of the country after his wife's death.
"He stated he was scared, nervous," Awad said. "Afraid of being implicated in the death, blamed for Rosie's death."
The jury also heard from University of Virginia toxicology expert Christopher Holstege. Dr. Holstege performed experiments and found that the general public would be able to put potassium cyanide into capsules. He said, "It's very easy to do."
Prosecutors believe Yazeed Essa put cyanide into calcium capsules his wife was taking.
