MENTOR, Ohio - A second person has died from injuries suffered in a car crash that killed an 11-year-old girl in Mentor Sunday, according to the Lake County Coroner's Office.
Victoria Stricklin, 55, and Adrianna Burr, 11, both died in the accident that occurred on Heisley Road, near the entrance ramp onto State Route 2.
According to Mentor police, Stricklin and Burr were passengers in a minivan that attempted to turn left onto the Route 2 entrance ramp and turned into the path of an SUV
David Kubacki, 64, was driving the van and is in critical condition at MetroHealth Medical Center. The fourth passenger was a 12-year-old, who is at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. The child's condition is unknown.
The four passengers inside the van were trapped in the vehicle before emergency crews were able to rescue them.
Police identified the driver of the SUV as Dean Zappia, 41, of Chardon, Ohio. Five people were in the SUV at the time and they were all transported to Hillcrest Hospital; their conditions are unknown.
The accident remains under investigation.
