CLEVELAND - A woman on a flight to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport caused quite a stir Sunday morning in Newark, New Jersey.
TSA officials said the woman, who has not been identified, walked away from a security checkpoint in Terminal C at Newark Liberty International Airport before completing the screening process.
Officials in New Jersey postponed all flights from taking off or coming in to the biggest and busiest terminal as they tried to find the woman.
"After an exhaustive search, it was determined that the passenger departed Newark Liberty on a flight to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. TSA resumed normal screening operations in Terminal C shortly before noon," said a TSA official in a news release.
The passenger was on United Airlines flight #1440, which landed in Cleveland around 10:45 a.m. Sunday.
The terminal closure caused more than 100 flights to be either canceled or delayed.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Hopkins said she didn't have any details about the incident.
