CLEVELAND - Why do you cycle? Post a video explaining and you could win a bicycle.
Submit a video story on why you ride to My Reasons To Ride, a Raleigh Bicycle website, between July 1 and Aug. 15 for a chance to win a Raleigh Cadent i8 bike.
Raleigh, Century Cycles and Bike Cleveland are sponsoring the My Reasons To Ride contest. In addition, if 50 people or more post a video, Raleigh will give Bike Cleveland $5,000 to help them continue their cycle advocacy.
“We are eager to hear the reasons Greater Clevelanders are passionate about riding their bikes and are thrilled to be able to share their stories, even beyond Ohio’s borders,” said Jacob VanSickle executive director of Bike Cleveland.
At upcoming events, the July 4 West Park Independence Day parade, the July 12 Bike Cleveland Social and the July 27 Bike To Work Day, cyclists will be able to have their stories recorded and submitted to the website by representatives of Bike Cleveland.
Scott Cowan, of Century Cycles, hears inspiring cycling stories everyday in his stores.
"Some have lost dramatic amounts of weight, others have reconnected with family, or achieved something they never thought they could."
Raleigh Bicycles will review the videos and the most compelling story will win the bike.
"Raleigh wants to collect as many stories as we can to show the joy and diversity of cycling, and we are eager to help on a local level," said Raleigh's Chris Speyer.
"This video contest is a way to do both."
