WESTLAKE, Ohio - Police in Westlake have arrested the woman they said was caught on camera stuffing two fur coats down her pants last week.
Investigators said they received a couple of tips about the woman in the video after it was shown by local media outlets on Monday.
Tuesday morning, Westlake police arrested 44-year-old Nakita Norman of Cleveland and charged her with felony theft.
The video shows the woman stuffing two fur coats down her pants last week at Sword Furs on Center Ridge Road. Police said another woman and a man distracted store employees while Norman removed the security tags.
The fur coats, valued at $5,000, were not recovered, police said.
A few days prior to this theft, Westlake police said three people stole two fur coats from the Furs by Weiss store. Police haven’t said yet whether the two crimes are connected.
