CLEVELAND - Cleveland is planning a birthday party and needs your help.
In 2012, the West Side Market will celebrate its 100th anniversary. newsnet5.com has learned that numerous commemorative events are being planned. One project currently under way is a book documenting the history of Cleveland's iconic market.
Local food authors Marilou Suszko and Laura Taxel have contracted with the University of Akron Press to produce the book.
The authors are presently collecting stories, photographs and memorabilia related to the market's storied past.
"We're always looking for the next great story," said Suszko. "Maybe something unusual that happened here... A special event, like weddings, birthdays... A photo that somebody may have tucked away... Something that really expresses something great about the market."
If you have that something great, the authors hope you will submit it for consideration.
